Student internships at the Bank of Lithuania
We aim to attract as many proactive, motivated, and responsible specialists as possible. This is why we provide the opportunity for higher education students to carry out professional or voluntary internships in various structural units of the Bank of Lithuania.
Objectives of the internship
To introduce students to the principles of the activity of the state’s central bank.
To help students develop practical skills by applying theoretical knowledge they acquired at their university.
To share with students the experience of the staff of the Bank of Lithuania and thus help higher education institutions train highly qualified specialists.
Admission to internships
Internships at the Bank of Lithuania may be carried out by students of integrated study programmes of higher education institutions, undergraduate students (after having completed at least two courses), and postgraduate students.
Students who apply for an internship are selected based on their motivational arguments and the objectives to be pursued during the internship.
A tripartite internship (for a duration of 2‒3 months) or voluntary internship (for no longer than 2 months) agreement is concluded with the accepted students.
A student admitted to undertake a professional internship shall submit three copies of the internship agreement signed by a person authorised by the educational institution and the student, a copy of their personal identification document, and a copy of their social security certificate (if available).
- A student admitted to a voluntary internship shall submit a copy of their personal identification document and a copy of their social security certificate (if available). The agreement is prepared by the Bank of Lithuania.
